PATNA: The function to celebrate the 125th birth anniversary of first President of India, the late Rajendra Prasad, was turned into a political
ground with the RJD appealing to the members of Kayastha community to support Lalu Prasad.
"If my lathi and your pen come together, we will be able to defeat a lot of people," he told the audience at S K Memorial Hall on Sunday. The event was organized by railway minister's PA Vinod Kumar Srivastava as `Kayastha Jagaran Diwas'. Lalu clarified that though he held a lathi rally, the lathi did not symbolise violence as made out by Nitish Kumar. "The lathi symbolises energy," he remarked.

Lalu said that his party favoured 10 per cent reservation for the poor among the upper castes. He recalled that during his regime, he never discriminated against good upper caste officials. "During my regime there were just two DMs belonging to the Yadav caste. But today on the basis of caste, one section of officers are being imported to Bihar," he remarked. "You do not have to ask for a share in political power," he told them.

He said that the Kayasthas had to decide which way the country has to run. "There is a way shown by Rajendra Prasad, Lohia and others and the second option is the one shown by Nathuram Godse," he remarked, stressing that communalism and terrorism were twin sisters. The railway minister promised to bring Ziradayee, the ancestral home of the first president of India located in Siwan district, on the rail map.

Earlier, various speakers showered praise on Lalu. Former advocate general of Bihar Sashi Anugrah Narain said that historians would write the name of Lalu in golden words for the strength he provided to the downtrodden. He said that Lalu is known as a Management Guru and it's time he takes an initiative in providing leadership to the Kayasthas. He stressed that it was a mistake to recognise the Kayasthas as a vote bank of any party. Eminent physician Dr Gopal Prasad Sinha described Lalu as a true mass leader.

Former director of A N Sinha Institute of Social Studies Yuvrajdev Prasad and noted physician Dr S P Sinha, in their speech, recalled that the railway minister had agreed immediately to the proposal of installing a life-sized statue of the late Rajendra Prasad at Rajendra Terminal.

RJD MP from Patna Ram Kripal Yadav said that the Kayasthas had always been generous in supporting Lalu. "The late Loknayak Jayprakash Narain had given his blessing to Laluji. Laluji never hesitated in making Kayasthas chief secretary and DGP," he remarked.

This is an another attempt by this truky to get votes on caste line. But this time he has forgotten that he is begging in front of those who are victime of his dirty politics. Shame on him.
When will our political leaders stop talking about caste based politics???
And when will the educated Bihari stop blogging/publishing these news???
The answer of first question lies in the second and hence I would appeal to all to become more matured while publishing these news articles
