HC forms committee under Advocate-General on crime control

With abductions and other crimes showing little signs of abating, the Patna High Court today constituted a seven-member committee headed by the Advocate-General to prepare an effective crime control plan for Bihar.
The committee, headed by Advocate-General P K Shahi, will have director-general of police, home secretary, registrar-general of the Patna High Court and three lawyers as members.
A Division Bench of Chief Justice J N Bhatt and justice S N Hussain ordered the committee to come to the court with its recommendations on May one on ways and means to curb crime, particularly the cases of kidnapping.
