Muzaffarpur (Bihar) : The six-month-old Nitish Kumar-led NDA government in Bihar has dispatched a juicy treat to the national capital as "gift" for the President, Vice-President, Prime Minister and other dignitaries - 100 packets of Bihar's finest 'Shahi lichhis'.On directives of the state government, the packets of the mouth-watering fruit grown here were today sent to Resident Commissioner of Bihar in Delhi C K Mishra to present them as gift from the new regime in the state to the dignitaries, District Magistrate Vinay Kumar told PTI.Besides the President, Vice President and Prime Minister, the Resident Commissioner has been requested to distribute the lichhis to central ministers hailing from the state, including Railways Minister and Nitish baiter Lalu Prasad, top bureaucrats and prominent personalities, he said.The DM said the purpose behind the exercise was to acquaint the VVIPs about the quality of the fruits grown in the state as also to tell them that Bihar was changing for the better.Muzaffarpur district, about 80 km from the capital, is famous for lichhi cultivation. The fruit from here is sent to markets across the country and also exported.
