Shatrughan Sinha wants to open a five-star hotel in Bihar.

PATNA, May 29: Bihar seems to be developing into a business hub for film luminaries now that Mr Nitish Kumar’s National Democratic Alliance government is in power. Director Prakash Jha has made his way into the construction business and actor Shatrughan Sinha wants to open a five-star hotel in Bihar. He plans a film city in Bihar for Bhojpuri films ~ doing rather well nowadays ~ modelled on Hyderabad’s Ramoji Rao Film City. Sources say Sinha, in a letter to Bihar’s deputy chief minister, Mr Sushil Kumar Modi, has expressed the desire, alluding to the state’s rich cultural heritage. Sinha has reportedly talked about the need for Bihar’s own film development council, like Uttar Pradesh. The suggestions of Sinha, a former Union minister in the NDA government, have been passed on to the recently~constituted State Investment Promotion Board. Bhojpuri films have done so well in recent months that Amitabh Bachchan, Udit Narayan and Naghma now reportedly profess interest in them, although the films need modest investment but yield huge profits. Sources said Bachchan would make a Bhojpuri version of Namak Halal. Earlier, Jha submitted a proposal to the Nitish Kumar government for the 47-km potholed Hajipur-Muzaffarpur National Highway to be altered to a four-lane expressway on a build-operate-transfer basis. Jha also plans investments in hospital construction.

I think opening a five star hotel in Bihar is not a big step as we know that it can generate very few jobs. But opening a film industry is really a praiseworthy step. We must congratulate him. But instead of Bhojpuri film industry we must say it Bihar Film Industry and make films of all languages which is in vague in Bihar. Thank you.
