MUKHIYA 'SUNDAY-COLUMN' : Greater PATNA

So Bihar Government is ready with Greater PATNA plan which is based on DELHI (National Capital Region) concept . As per Bihar government PLAN " Greater Patna " will include Fathua to Maner , Hajipur and Sonepur , which will include 222 villages . Total alloted money for coming 5 year will be Rs 700 crores approx , of which 50 % will be burden by Central Government .

No doubt , Its a GOOD NEWs for BIHARI but what MODEL it is ? Where is economy to support this MODEL METRO CITY ? How long it will survive ? Better EXPOSED , Bihari specially NRB will start comparing it with NOIDA / Greater NOIDA / BANGALORE / MYSORE . Intresting , BIhar Government is having very less PLAN to support the economy of such city . Where is INDUSTRY ?

for example , NOIDA is a big hit for UP government which had its support from DELHI . Similarly , Greater NOIDA was started but its still looks like a DECORATED VILLAGE . People living in Dehradoon or in MUMBAI are eager to invest thier hard earned money in Greater NOIDA , which is much pronounced as CITY of FUTURE .

What economy will support GREATER PATNA ? BIHAR Government is total fail to support its much Hyped , 1960 initiated KANKARBAGH COLONY , which is totally converted into an OLD AGE HOME CITY .

Its not only 4 / 6 lane ROAD , You need vechile to run on ROAD and economy which will support people to buy VECHILE .

Certainly we need to revive , HAJIPUR Industrial belt , which was a project of 1977 JANTA PARTY government and later on same project of then Rs 500 crore was transferred to MOHALI , CHANDIGARH . We need to revival of FATHUA INDUSTRIAL ESTATE as well as MOKAMA Industrial Estate , which will provide JOBs on large scale and will support coming GREATER PATNA .

Says Prof Ravindran: “The social profile of the city must depend on a ound financial model. If you are creating an educational city, most of its residents must be connected with the business of education.”

No Doubt , NITISH is doing his duty but he need to think beyond much abused word "Social justice" , Industrialisation will be benefitted to all sections of SOCIETY and Freedom to EARN as per individual capacity to all .
