PATNA: CM Nitish Kumar on Tuesday assured a delegation of Bihar Industries Association that the new industrial policy will be announced on July 20. The assurance came at a high-level meeting which was also attended by deputy CM and finance minister Sushil Kumar Modi, energy minister Bijendra Prasad Yadav, industries minister Gautam Singh and the chief secretary, industrial development commissioner, development secretary, finance commissioner, commercial tax commissioner and the state advocate general. The CM had also invited BIA representatives to discuss the matter so that the draft new industrial policy could be shaped in a manner that it benefits the state in its economic and industrial development. BIA president K P S Keshri told TOI the BIA at the meeting pleaded for the need to give a prop to the entrepreneurs of Bihar. The association suggested that focus should be made on strengthening the existing industrial units of Bihari entrepreneurs and revival of the viable sick industries. Keshri said the new industrial policy should allow the Bihari entrepreneurs to be competitive with those coming from other states to invest in this state.
