Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has said that his government was contemplating announcing a policy for the promotion of tea cultivation in this district bordering West Bengal.Mr Kumar who was here yesterday to open some schemes worth Rs 330 crore told a gathering at Ruidhasha ground that the NDA government would soon declare a tea policy for proper development of tea plantation and industry in the district, which had successfully experimented tea plantation. The soils of Kishanganj district are favourable for tea cultivation as the bordering Dinajpur district in West Bengal produces huge liquoring tea.Mr Kumar said tea plantation would not just open a new vista, but also generate employment on a big scale and help augment the economy of the state.
