Two Big HOSPITALs in BIHAR

Yesterday Bihar saw the gathering of top Indian Industrialist as well as Investors who were in Patna to attend a a three-hour meeting under the banner of Bihar Development and Investment Council (BDIC) at the conference hall of the Information Building in Patna . Its was an effort of ex-IAS Sri Nand Kishore Singh .
Among those taking part in the meeting included Anand Mahindra of Mahindra & Mahindra, Vice President of the RPG Group Sanjeev Goenka, Aditya Birla Group president Kumar Mangalam Birla, president of the Gujarat Ambuja Cement Suresh Naotia, Max Group CEO Analjeet Singh, Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industries (FICCI) president H. Khorkiwala, APJ Surendra Group president Priya Pal, president of the Feedbank Venture Vinayak Chatterjee, ICCI Bank CEO K. V. Kamath, Homi Khusrokhan of Tata Chemicals Ltd., noted urban developer Hafeez Contractor, CII CEO Tarun Das, FICCI secretary Amit Mitra, ILFS presient Ravi Parthasarathy, IDFC general manager Rajiv Lal, Shekhar Gupta of Indian Express, and TCS general manager S. Ramdurai.Committee deputy chairperson N. K. Singh said the Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) has announced its decision to open centers of excellence in Bihar while the FICCI has promised to open new business training centers and upgrade the existing ones in the state.Anand Mahindra of Mahindra & Mahindra said Bihar was fortunate to have a progressive and dedicated leader like Nitish Kumar and have a quality bureaucracy in place that is on the same page as the NDA ministers.Later, at a dinner hosted by the Chief Minister at his residence, the guests said they were not in Patna to enjoy the hospitality extended by Kumar but they were there to take some real actions that would make Bihar the envy of the nation."These industrialists, investors, and businessmen could have gone to any other state but the fact they are here in Bihar to discuss development plans indicate a wind of change is blowing in the state and it was only a matter of time before Bihar would be competing with the rest of the developed states," said Shekhar Gupta of Indian Express.FICCI general secretary Dr. Amit Mitra said Bihar was blessed with fertile land and abundance of water so the need of the hour was to establish training centers for food processing throughout the state. "Bihar leads in the production of tomatoes, is the second largest producer of cauliflower, and is in the third place in the nation in the production of potatoes. We will help Bihar set up food processing centers for which we have already gathered pertinent data and have agreed to work with the state government," he said.Dr. Mitra also suggested producing ethanol gas in Bihar by utilizing its large sugarcane production.ICICI general manager and CEO K. V. Kamath said he could see a completely new business environment in Bihar under the Nitish government that has convinced him flow of investment in Bihar was just a matter of time.Besides the Chief Minister, others from the state government present at the meeting were Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi, Road Construction Minister Nand Kishore Yadav, Energy Minister Vijendra Yadav, state planning commission deputy chairperson N. K. Singh, and Chief Secretary A. K. Chowdhary.Modi called the meet an outstanding success saying he was very optimistic about the future of Bihar."Next 6 to 12 months are very critical for Bihar and we have to ensure we keep the promises we have made to the people of Bihar," he said.
