Bihar boy is all-India topper with 99.4%

He has done Bihar, his school and his parents proud by topping the CBSE Class X examination this year, securing an aggregate of 99.4 per cent marks. Tuesday was a big day for Manish Kumar, a student of Gyan Niketan. His father Sanjay Kumar is the Director of Accounts, Postal Services and mother Sunita Kumari is a housewife.
D.K. Mukherjee, Principal of Gyan Niketan, described Manish as a constant performer excelling in every subject. “Manish earned praises from all his teachers for the brilliant manner in which he absorbed bare essentials of each subject. We were confident Manish will secure excellent mark in CBSE examination,” he said.
Manish had secured over 95 per cent in the pre-Board examination, giving a clear hint of things to follow, he added.
Manish used to make copious notes on each and every topic, repeatedly asking questions so he could improve further, said Shailendra Mohan Jha, Manish’s economics teacher. “His desire to excel is so tremendous that he is equally at ease with Sanskrit, Economics and Science,” he said. Manish’s dream is to enter one of the IITs, he added.
Acharya Kishore Kunal, Administrator, Bihar State Religious Trust Board and founder of Gyan Niketan, described this as a proud moment.
