CM to chair panel on 1857 uprising

CM Nitish Kumar will chair the state level implementation committee set up to observe the 150 years of 1857 revolt and 60th year of Independence.

Giving this information on Friday, cabinet secretary Girish Shankar said that while deputy CM Sushil Kumar Modi would be the vice-chairman of the committee, ministers of departments concerned would be its members.

This apart, state unit presidents of all the recognised parties — JD (U), BJP, RJD, CPI, BSP, CPM, Congress, NCP and LJP — will be entitled to nominate one representative each to the committee.
