'Super 30' set to become 'Super 100'

PATNA: Driven by the success of their initiative to coach 30 economically backward IIT aspirants every year, the 'Super 30' gurus have now come out with the concept of 'Super 100' for All-India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE) aspirants. "The Super 100 will be exclusively for students belonging to SCs, STs and extremely backward castes," said Bihar police's ADG (HQ) Abhayanand who took time off his police duties to team up with maths wizard Anand Kumar for coaching the Super 30 aspirants. Most of the 30 students made it to IITs every year since the move started in 2003. However, the 'Super 100' will be not be on the pattern of 'Super 30'. While the IIT aspirants are kept virtually confined for a certain period during which they go through gruelling preparations, the AIEEE aspirants will be provided only coaching. "They will have to make arrangements for their fooding and lodging on their own," Abhayanand said. No fee will be charged for coaching under the 'Super 100' programme. "We had been offered financial help from different quarters for 'Super 30' which we denied," he said.
