Book on Bihar to be released in August

PATNA: Want to refresh your knowledge about Bihar, its festivals and fairs and its sons of the soil? Have patience.

State’s information and public relations department (IPRD) is in the process of publishing a book containing all such details. Titled ‘The Cultural Heritage of Bihar’, the coffee table book is slated for release next month.

A compilation of works of a group of writers, the book has been divided into six sections ‘ history, major tourist places, important festivals and fairs, art and culture, great personalities and some unique features of the state.

“We had been working on the idea for quite some time and once it took shape we invited write-ups from experts,” IPRD secretary Vivek Singh said.

He said the content of the book is of very good quality as the department took special care while selecting the writers. Singh said a special marketing policy is also being worked out to make the book easily available to interested readers.
