Doc feted for AIDS-related work


Justice (retd) Bhuwaneshwar Prasad on Sunday appreciated the efforts of Dr Diwakar Tejaswi, the medical director of the Regional Aids Training Centre and Networking in India (RATNEI), a part of the International Health Organisation (IHO). He was addressing a function organised by the Gramin Vikas Samiti in association with other organisations to felicitate Dr Tejaswi for his services towards the HIV-affected patients and the approval of his research paper on AIDS for publication by the International Aids Society, at the International Aids meet to be held in Sydney from July 22 to 25. Prasad said HIV-patients are a deprived lot in society and whoever served them served humanity in the true sense. Dr Tejaswi had organised a training programme for the members of the Gramin Vikas Samiti for prevention and treatment of HIV-Aids. His contributions in creating awareness among the people is remarkable, said secretary of Gramin Vikas Samiti, S K Srivastava. Other prominent persons who graced the occasion were Patna West MLA Nitin Navin and Patna central MLA Arun Kumar Sinha, Dr Gopal Prasad and Dr Narendra Prasad.
