The government has called a meeting of top officials Wednesday to decide on a strategy to effectively counter the Maoists. It has already admitted intelligence failure for the recent Maoist attacks on a police station, a police outpost and a CRPF (Central Reserve Police Force) camp.'Policemen in Bihar have been fighting against Maoists in difficult situations and with inadequate facilities,' said a leader of the Bihar Policemen's Association. The association has demanded proper facilities, including sophisticated weapons, to combat the rebels.Amanullah said that centre had released two companies of paramilitary forces to intensify combing operations against the Maoists. Two days ago, the state government had sought 10 companies of the central forces.Last week, at least nine people, including five policemen and a guard, were killed and four others injured when Maoist guerrillas attacked a police station in Rajpur and a police outpost at Baghela in Rohtas district.
