Union Rural Development Minister and RJD leader Raghuvansh Prasad Singh, who needles the JD(U)-BJP coalition in Bihar on various issues, now plans to undertake a drive to peruse all Central schemes in the state.
Singh, who has already held meetings with Panchayati Raj and water resource development-related officers of Bihar, is slated to hold more such meetings in the coming month too, a source in his ministry said.
"August 2 was booked for the Panchayati Raj schemes. On August 10, officers related to the water resource development had their meeting with the minister. There are scheduled meetings for food and consumer affairs, finance, power, human resource development and health ministries on August 27, September 3, 10, 19 and 25 respectively," the source said.
In an apparent bid to embarrass Bihar's NDA government, Singh is also engaged in writing letters to Chief Minister Nitish Kumar pointing out the failures of his government in executing Central schemes.
In one of these letters to Kumar, Singh said, "the Rashtriya Sam Vikas Yojna was to be completed in three years and is still pending. And even the alloted funds have not been spent."
