Bihar kids fight Naxals on their school ground

These children probably know nothing about the Naxalite movement, except that their schools in Aurangabad district have been closed for some time now because of Naxals' frequent demands for money.

"Naxals damage our school. We want to tell them not to snatch away our school life and let us study,” says Abhishek Rai, a student. They claim even teachers get ransom calls from Naxals.

Now the students have hit the streets in protest. They say their protests will continue till schools are allowed to function peacefully.

“The protests will continue till they let us study,” says Anamika Kumari.
These protests have been welcomed by the administration. “These children have shown that they won’t suffer due to terrorism any longer,” says Inspector Som Prakash.

It is said, the pen is mightier than the sword, and the children of Bihar are making this literally come true.
