Registration rules relaxed for shops

Now the shops and other business establishments in the state would not have to go for annual renewal of registration of their establishments from the labour department. The state cabinet on Tuesday decided to annul Rule 3 (Ka) of the Bihar Shops and Establishments Act 1955. With this decision the registration of all the shops and business establishments under this Act have been made permanent and would continue till the closure of those establishments.

In yet another decision, the state cabinet approved Rs 47 lakh for providing cent per cent grant to the handloom weavers of the state for modernisation of their handlooms by making them avail other appliances like modern looms, doby and jackards for the fiscal 2007-08.

Similarly, the state cabinet sanctioned an amount of Rs 6 lakh for purchase of diesel generating sets by powerloom industries of the state under 50 per cent grant scheme for the fiscal 2007-08.

The cabinet also approved promotion of 20 sub-judges to the post of additional district and sessions judge. It also approved creation of two posts of chief ground instructor and ground instructor under civil aviation directorate for Bihar Flying Club as per director general of civil aviation guidelines.
