Patna urban haat on the cards

PATNA: The state government is moving in right earnest to open Patna’s urban haat at a publicly accessible point of Pataliputra Industrial Area (PIA) here for which Rs 2 crore has already been sanctioned. The urban haat that has been conceived for Patna is on the pattern of "Dilli Urban Haat" and would be spread over 6,000 square metre land in the PIA complex. It would be based on the private public partnership (PPP) system. The state industries department had already invited sealed tenders from competent private bidders for processing and final selection of the bidder to be entrusted with the job of construction of the urban "haat" here, it is learnt. The "haat", when completed, would provide integrated marketing arena for the display and sale of products produced in the state. Apart from this, the department hopes that the display of products, including handicraft, would provide an opportunity to the entrepreneurs concerned to also gain required exposure for both national and international sale.
