Modular catering stalls in Patna station


PATNA: Four modular catering stalls of Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC), the first of its kind in the eastern region, were inaugurated at the Patna junction railway station to provide quality food to passengers and keep the platforms free from cooking.

Five more such stalls of IRCTC would be set up at the railway station, East Central Railway general manager Girish Bhatnagar said inaugurating the four stalls on Saturday.

Bhatnagar told newsmen that IRCTC was keen on upgrading catering services and the four stalls put up at platforms 2, 4, 5 and 8 would be able to cater to the passengers with hygenic food maintained at the appropriate temperature with electrical gadgets.

He said the railway authorities had received complaints about substandard food being served in Rajdhani Express. "We are looking into the complaints and strong steps will be taken in case of any compromise on quality."
