Stamp duty relief for shop, house owners

PATNA: The state cabinet on Tuesday provided relief to shop and house owners by reducing the stamp duty on tenancy documents to half percent. Landlords will now be able to get the documents prepared for much less before renting out their premises.

In another significant move, the cabinet decided to establish B P Mandal Engineering College in Madhepura and Nalanda College of Engineering at Chandi. Teachers for these colleges would be appointed on contractual basis in the first phase while regular appointments would be made later. The two engineering colleges would fulfil all parameters of the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE).

Besides, closed government BEd colleges would be re-opened. Only those who have cleared NET would be considered for posts of teachers there.
