SAMASTIPUR: Chief minister Nitish Kumar attended a programme organized on the occasion of birth anniversary of Jannayak Karpoori Thakur at his
ancestral village Karpoori Gram in Samastipur on Saturday. Large number of people gathered at the community hall to watch the function braving the icy winds.
The chief minister arrived three hours late, garlanded the oil portrait of Thakur and immediately left for Patna to attend other programmes there. Several other state ministers, including Narendra Singh, Nagmani, Sudha Srivastava, Harinaraian Singh and Ramnath Thakur and legislators Ashwamedh Devi, Maheshwar Hazari and Shivanand Tiwari also paid floral tributes to Thakur.
