Retired Bihar govt employees to get medical benefits

Bihar government today decided to extend medical benefits to retired employees on par with those presently working.
 

A decision to this effect was taken by the state cabinet chaired by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. Talking to reporters here after the meeting, Principal Secretary, Cabinet Secretariat Department, Girish Shanker said that usually people needed such facilities (medical benefits) after superannuation and hence the government gave its nod to extend all medical benefits to such employees on par with the working employees.

Medical facilities would also be provided to officers in judicial services, Shanker said.In another decision, the cabinet also gave its approval to M/s Indian Tractors and Components Pvt Ltd, Karkardooma, New Delhi to set up a Rs 175 crore tractor factory in Fatuha industrial area of Patna, Shanker said.

Earlier, the government had given its approval to the proposal of M/s International Tractors Company Ltd, Karkardooma, New Delhi to set up the tractor factory at Fatuha on June 16, 2008, Shanker said, adding that it cancelled the earlier proposal and sanctioned the new one proposed by the company.

In its financial statement, the company has said that its promoters would invest Rs 60 crore and the rest Rs 115 crore would be taken from banks and financial institutions as a term loan, the principal secretary said.
