PATNA: Nobel laureate Amartya Sen will deliver a lecture on Bihar here on Saturday.
Jointly organised by ADRI and Sen's own Pratichi Trust, the function to be held at Taramandal will be chaired by JNU professor and mathematical economist Anjan Mukherjee. According to ADRI member-secretary Shaibal Gupta, Sen will speak on the topic "Bihar: Past, Present and Future". He said this is the first time Sen will be speaking on a particular state. ADRI is also expected to enter into some joint collaboration with the Trust formed with the Nobel Prize money. Sen reached Bodh Gaya on Thursday from Singapore to attend the Nalanda Mentor Group meeting. Singapore foreign minister George Yeo also arrived by the same chartered flight. The meeting will be held on Friday evening after the arrival of chief minister Nitish Kumar. Sen and others will see the proposed site of Nalanda International University at Nalanda before the meeting.
