Begusarai, Feb 3 : A local court of Bihar's Begusarai district today issued summons to Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) MP from Balia Suraj Singh alias Surajbhan in connection with a case of submitting false affidavit for the last Lok Sabha election.
First Class Judicial Magistrate S N Ram ordered issuing of summons to Singh, a history sheeter, to be personally present before him on February 20.
The district administration had filed the case against Singh for concealing facts about the number of criminal cases pending in various courts against him in the affidavit filed with his nomination papers in the 2004 Lok Sabha elections.
Singh was sentenced to life imprisonment in a murder case last year and is on bail.
