Railways start three new trains in eight days

New Delhi, Feb 6 The Railways today announced a new train between Varanasi and Chennai, days after two new trains connecting the capital to Ranchi and Motihari in the eastern region were started last week.
While two Garib Rath trains -- one connecting Delhi to Ranchi and the other between the Capital and Bapudham Motihari in Bihar -- were announced last week, Northern Railway today announced a new service between Varanasi and Chennai Egmore.

A Northern Railway spokesperson said this train will be flagged-off on February 8 and the Bapudham Motihar Garib Rath will start its regular journey the next day.

The train to Chennai Egmore will run from Varanasi every Sunday at 9.15 pm and reach Chennai Egmore at 10.50 am the third day

In the return direction, it will leave from Chennai Egmore on every Thursday at 1 pm and arrive in Varanasi at 4.50 am on the third day.

It will have stoppages in Gyanpur Road, Allahabad, Satna, Katni, Jabalpur, Itarsi, Nagpur, Sewa Gram, Chandrapur, Sirpur Kaghaznagar, Ramgundam, Warangal, Vijayawada, Tenali, Ongole, Nellore and Gudur stations enroute.

However, on completion of the gauge conversion work, its services will be extended up to Rameswaram, the spokesperson said.
