HC moved against election of George, Paswan

PATNA: A writ petition has been filed in the Patna High Court challenging the election of George Fernandes and Ram Vilas Paswan to the Lok Sabha
and also the election of Rabri Devi and state science and technology minister Shahid Ali Khan from the constituencies where they were not registered as voters.

Petitioner Bindeshwar Sah, who is a resident of Dumra Nagar panchayat in Sitamarhi district, submitted that Fernandes' home address is Bangalore whereas he was elected MP from Muzaffarpur. Likewise, LJP Paswan is a voter of Alauli Assembly constituency in Khagaria district but he was elected MP from Hajipur.

The petitioner further said Rabri is a voter of Patna West Assembly constituency but she was elected MLA from Raghopur in Vaishali district while Khan is a voter of Pupri constituency but he was elected MLA from Sitamarhi. The petitioner said under the provisions of Representation of People's Act, they should be disqualified.
