Poll officers shifted in Bihar

Patna: The Bihar Election Department has shifted 30 sub-electoral officers posted in districts for the past three years on the directives of the Election Commission.

The notification on shifting the officers was issued after the Commission considered their transfers imperative since they (sub-electoral officers) were directly involved in the poll process, Joint Electoral Officer Kumar Anshumali said on Sunday.

The transferred officials have been directed to submit a detailed report to the district magistrates-cum-returning officers about the poll-related work done during their district postings.

They were also asked to join their new postings with immediate effect so that they could conduct the coming Lok Sabha elections in the State in a “free and fair manner.” — PTI
