RJD's minority cell chief joins JD(U)

Patna, Mar 5 (PTI) In a jolt to RJD in Bihar ahead of Lok Sabha elections in Bihar, the chairman of the party's minority cell Mohammed Nematullah joined ruling JD(U) claiming "communalism is no more an issue"."Communalism is no more an issue. The next elections would be fought on development plank," Nematullah told reporters at the JD(U) headquarters here. The development came four days after JD(U) dealt a big blow to Ramvilas Paswan's LJP when its national President and Parliamentary Board Chief Ranjan Prasad Yadav joined the party on March one."Lalu used to garner minority votes by creating a fear psychosis (about the surge of saffron brigade)", Nematullah alleged and claimed minorities would vote for NDA on development plank with chief minister Nitish Kumar becoming the 'symbol of Bihar's development'.Welcoming Nematullah and his supporters into his party, Nitish Kumar said JD(U) would be strengthened by his joining it.Stating that Ramvilas Paswan and Lalu were two faces of the same coin, he said both were engaged in 'shadow boxing' and hence he welcomed Ranjan Prasad Yadav to JD(U).Meanwhile, RJD appointed former MLA Abdul Ghafoor in the place of Nematullah.
