Lalu refutes Cong charge on Bhagalpur riots

PATNA: Incensed over Congress' charge with regard to Lalu Prasad's alleged role in the Bhagalpur communal riots, RJD released extracts of former
CM Satyendra Narayan Sinha's autobiography `Meri Yaadey: Meri Bhool' which names two senior Congress leaders as persons who fueled the communal violence in Bhagalpur in 1989.

"Congress state president Anil Sharma has blamed me for the Bhagalpur riots. Sharma does not even remember that it was the Congress government which was in power when the communal violence took place. The late Satyendra Babu was not my man. He was a Congress leader and look what he has written, remarked Lalu. Interestingly, this book was released a couple of years ago by external affairs minister Pranab Mukherjee in the city.
