Love guru Matuk's poll hopes dashed nomination rejected

PATNA: Voters of Patna Sahib will not have the opportunity to listen to love guru Matuk Nath's "discourse on love" this election. Nor will they
have the love parks that he promised if elected. His nomination papers were rejected during scrutiny on Tuesday.

College teacher Matuk had shot to national "fame" when he had an affair with one of his students, Julie, much junior his age.

Besides, the nomination papers of Amitesh Choudhary of Slumdog International Party too were rejected.

A total of 17 nomination papers were rejected leaving just 16 candidates in fray from Patna Sahib as of now. This is not the final figure as the last date of withdrawing nomination is April 22.

Regarding repoll, the Election Commission is yet to take any decision. According to EC sources, the likely date of repoll at certain booths, where polling took place in the first phase on April 16, would be some time between the third and fourth phase of polls.
