Bihar to double agricultural production in four years: Nitish

Ara, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today said the state government was committed to doubling agricultural production in Bihar in next four years.

Addressing a function organised here, Mr Kumar said the state government had prepared a road map for doubling agricultural production in Bihar in four years and demanded financial assistance from the Centre for fulfilling its endeavour.

” The road map prepared by the state government for such mission had also been appreciated by Indian Council of Agriculture Research (ICAR),” he said adding Bihar had lagged behind to get the benefit during green revolution in the country.

” We want to usher in an era of integrated growth of agriculture, dairies and fisheries in Bihar which could be achieved through Rainbow revolution,” he emphasised.

” Bihar has a great potential to become a developed state and it could become a reality if sustained growth were maintained in dairies, agriculture and fisheries sector,” he remarked.
