MU to hold workshop for all principals


PATNA: Magadh University (MU) would hold a workshop for all the principals of the constituent colleges at the university Guest House at Bodh Gaya on May 15. The workshop is likely to discuss the interface high committee meeting of the UGC which is to begin from May 25 this month at MU Guest House at Bodh Gaya. This is the first time that the university is organizing all principals' meet for the UGC to decide fund allocation for each college of the state, said College Development Council, MU, chairman R K Verma. According to him, about 350 principals from nine universities and about 25 UGC members would attend the meeting. The university is organizing this interface meeting at the initiative of MU VC B N Pandey, he said. The council informed that the basic purpose of this meet is to assess the actual requirement of grants of different colleges in the state. Besides, the proposed UGC meet will motivate colleges to utilize UGC funds to further improve the academic atmosphere on university and college campus, he said. Meanwhile, MU VC said that he had recently held a meeting with UGC chairman S K Thorat in New Delhi to decide modalities of the interface meeting which will be held university and college-wise, he said, adding that the university is all set to hold such a mega event.
