Centre a stumbling block in Bihar's development: Nitish

Patna, Jun 4 : Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today accused the Centre of becoming a stumbling block in the state's industrial development.

Due to the Centre's wrong policies Bihar was not able to attract investments from outside, the chief minister alleged.

The state has cleared 170 proposals of making ethanol from sugarcane juice but the Centre has not approved them as it has changed sugarcane policy.

The Union government's dilly-dally attitude in providing coal linkages to the state has become a non-starter for thermal projects, Kumar claimed.

The state has all ingredients and potential of industrial development but it could not move on the path of development as the required cooperation was not available from the Centre, he said.

Kumar also said Bihar should get "special status" as it has become people's voice.
