Dave is the best Dad in the City

PATNA: They swam, they sang and even played steppers. No, we are not talking about children who chose to do some "masti" on a summer evening. They,
in fact, were fathers, who did it all and many more things with their children by the side to encourage them. At a function organized on the Father's Day, city resident Prashant Dave was declared the best dad. The event was organized by The Times of India-Patna, Radio Mirchi and New Patna Club on the club premises here on Sunday. Vikash Agarwal and Sanjay Kumar were declared the first and second runners-up respectively. Maruti Suzuki, Advantage Services, VLCC, Chandbihari Agrawal's Jewellery House, Earthing Centre, Pan America and Thyrocare were the event partners for the show, which attracted over hundreds of families who had a wonderful and fun-filled evening on the sprawling lawns of the New Patna Club. The evening started with a swimming competition and five participants took part in the event with kids running along the pool encouraging their respective fathers. And Lo, children's encouragement did wonders to the participants with the winner, Neeraj Gandhi, covering the 50 metre distance in just 44.74 seconds. Gandhi's kids rained him with kisses when he came out of the pool with people present there giving him a warm applause. Prabhakar Nandan Prasad and Bhavesh Khan emerged second and third in the competition. This was just the beginning as the organizers had many more things in store to make the evening a memorable one. Radio Mirchi RJs Umang, Shashi and Shrishti kept the fathers busy with entertaining games like Treasure Hunt, Awaz Do and Flexi Fit. So charged up were the fathers that they even ran around the ground to collect clues for winning the event named, Treasure Hunt. The winners of Treasure Hunt were given gift hampers by Pan America and silver coins by Chandbihari Agrawal's Jewellery House. Mothers too had their pie of enjoyment as a special paper dance competition was organized for them in which they were made to dance with their kids. Adding to the evening fun was a variety of mouth-watering food items which were being served from several food stalls set up on the premises.
