Mr. Manjhi said the state government had decided to provide land to the families of Mahadalits across the state for construction of houses under Mahadalit Development Scheme.
He estimated that about 4,000 acres of land would be acquired for the purpose.
The total number of landless Mahadalit families, according to statistics made available from the districts, was 1,05,913, official sources said.
