Bihar Medicos call off strike

Patna, Nov 21 (PTI) Over 1,000 junior doctors in Bihar, agitating for the past 11 days demanding increased stipend as promised by the state government, today called off their stir.

The doctors at Patna Medical College Hospital and Darbhanga Medical College Hospital took the decision after meeting the members of Bihar state Health Service Association (BSHSA) and Indian Medical Association.

"We have decided to withdraw our strike today... all of us will resume work from midnight tonight," PMCH junior doctors association president D Kumar told reporters.

Over 100 patients have died during the strike period.

The decision to call of the strike comes a day after the Bihar Human Rights commission asked the state government to lodge an FIR and begin legal action against the striking doctors.
