Buyoed by the endorsement of the chairman of the Investment Commission Ratan Tata that Bihar has become an investmentment destination, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar yesterday said the environment had changed and more and more people were taking interest in the state. Talking to reporters after emerging from the 'Janata Durbar', Kumar said, "We have succeeded in creating an atmosphere conducive for investments in Bihar and that is why several big companies have submitted their investment proposals to state industrial promotion board". Kumar said, "We have outlined our policies for investment in different sectors and have already cleared proposals for setting industrial units worth over Rs 10,000 crore". Asked though several MoUs have been signed in the recent past but not a single project has come up so far, Kumar said, it would take at least three years time to take the projects actual shape. He also denied the allegation of Union Rural Development Minister Raghubansh Prasad Singh that the Chief Minister had refused audience to him to discuss several centrally sponsored schemes. "Why should not I meet Singh...After all he is Union Minister and the schemes are aimed at developing the state", the Chief Minister said and added he was yet to receive a letter from Singh seeking appointment.
