The actor will host a show to honour unsung heroes; produced by reel-screen vamp Urvashi Dholakia.
The show, will go on air on Gandhi Jayanti, has Bollywood star Aamir Khan hosting it. Inspired by the film 'Rang De Basanti', the show will honour individuals whose actions have made an impact in the society and will recognise the spirit of humanity. Says Urvashi, "My show will be on air on October 2 and will salute heroes in our society and we have managed to rope in Aamir for the show."
The winners have been chosen from common people who have voted their hero in their community via sms and mail. Incidentally, among the winners one of them is Abhayanand, who is currently posted as ADG (HQ), with the Bihar government. Two years ago, while teaching his children for the IIT entrance tests, he realised how underprivileged students don't have access to such facilities. That's when he decided to start a tutorial for poor rural students.
In 2002, he and a maths teacher Anand Kumar began Super 30 — a free tutorial to coach youngsters from underprivileged families for the IIT entrance test. Anand bears the entire expenses for the centre. There are already several students who have been tutored by them and have made it to the IIT.
