Bihar CM hosts iftaar party to forget differences

Festivals are always a good time to temporarily forget differences and spread good cheer and politicians in Bihar seem to be taking this quite seriously. With Eid just 10 days away, iftaar parties have been going strong and its been the perfect meeting ground for rivals to hobnob. It was an emotional visit to 1 Anne Marg for former Bihar Chief Minister Rabri Devi. The Iftaar party on Friday evening hosted by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar at his official residence was the very house from where Rabri and her husband Lalu Yadav ruled Bihar for 15 long years.Almost every politician worth his salt was in attendance except for Union Railway Minister Lalu Yadav. And an emotional Rabri promised to host her own Iftaar party soon."I will also organise an Iftaar party on next Friday. I will invite the chief minister in the month of Ramzan I convey my good wishes to everyone," said Rabri Devi, former chief minister, Bihar. But Friday's Iftaar party had also brought other political rivals together like Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Ram Vilas Paswan. In keeping with the mood Nitish promised to make it to Rabri's Iftaar despite Lalu's absence."On this occasion we should visit each other. This sends a good message that despite political differences there are some occasions where we forget our differences," said Kumar."Despite political differences, we maintain our personal relations," said Ram Vilas Paswan, Union Steel Minister.Iftaar diplomacy at its very best in Bihar this Ramzan.
