After Union Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, it is the turn of another Bihari babu to give management tips to budding managers at the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad.
The invitation to Anand Kumar is not surprising, at least to people whose lives this "common man" has touched. Kumar runs Super 30, a coaching institute that prepares poor students for the IIT-JEE exam.
Anand Kumar's claim to fame is his unwavering belief that the youth of the blighted state deserve all the chance in the world. For no other reason except that they are honest in their efforts. His private coaching school has attained a cult status among academics and students of Bihar, creating a record for consistently coming up with a number of poor students who crack the IIT-JEE, arguably one of the world's toughest competitive exams.IIM-A authorities said Kumar is possibly the first from a 'poor background' to have been invited to lecture on how to make a success of an enterprise, that ostensibly is not profit-driven.
