Hailing Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for organising two-day cultural programme on the occasion of Durga puja, cinestar and BJP MP Shatrughan Sinha today said the occasion signalled return of past cultural glory of the State and showed the "progressive" face of Bihar under the NDA rule.
"It is a great initiative on part of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar in organising two-day cultural programme at historic Gandhi Maidan on the occasion of Durga puja. It signals return of past cultural glory of Bihar and also shows the progressive face of Bihar under Nitish Kumar," Sinha, who alongwith Sekhar Suman and Prakash Jha regaled the audience on Friday and Saturday night, said.
The revival of the old tradition of cultural programmes on Dusshera here taking place after over a decade reflected return of glorious days of Bihar, the senior BJP leader fondly addressed as "Bihari babu", said.
Besides Sinha, Suman and Jha, Kishori Amonkar shared the dias with Bhojupri film actor and singer Manoj Tiwari, quawwali singers Anjum Bano (Mumbai), noted Kathak dancer Shobhna Narayan and prominent folk singer Sharda Sinha regaled the audiences during the programme organised by state Cultural department.
The Cultural programme organised on the initiative of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar was dedicated to Bismillah Khan, who died recently.
