"There was a general consensus that Bihar was on the right track with right political and economical mindset" Nitish Kumar CM Bihar
In a development Chief Minister of Bihar Mr. Nitish Kumar said that despite all odds and constant attempt by the Laloo Brigade to disrupt the growth of state and malign the NDA government, Bihar had achieved tremendous flow in just one year alone and there was a general consensus that Bihar was on the right track with right political and economical mindset.
"There has been a marked shift in the way people now think about Bihar. Earlier under the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) regime, Bihar was seen as a state devoid of any development and full of crime. Those days are history now. Businessmen are coming to Bihar seeking investment opportunities and there had been a general sense of relief among the residents who now roam the city without having fear of being killed, robbed, or abducted," the Chief Minister said.
Kumar said his government would soon release a 'report card' of the works done since the NDA came into power last November. "Our records will speak for themselves. While we have a long way to go, it is clear that Bihar is on the right track and given time, it will be competing with the rest of the developed states in the nation," he said.
"It will take some time and plenty of effort to undo what the previous government had done in the last 15 years," Kumar said.
The Chief Minister also spoke about foreign dignitaries and business tycoons visiting Bihar with the interest of developing the Buddhist circuit and setting up industries in the state. "This all shows a massive shift in paradigm towards the state and now it is up to us to take advantage of these offers," he said.
Talking about crime situation in the state, the Chief Minister said while it was unrealistic to think no crime would take place under the NDA regime, the police, unlike in the past, was more vigil and actions were taken against the criminals in a swift manner. "Even those in the ruling parties are not being spared when found of committing crime or engaging in corrupt practices," Kumar said.
"It is ironical that while Union Ministers like Health Minister A. Ramadoss and Tourism Minister Ambika Soni have openly acknowledged their satisfaction over the positive changes taking place in the state, Union Ministers from the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), for pure political interests, continue to accuse our government for not doing anything since assuming power in Bihar," Kumar said.
