Enterprising farmers in Bihar will now be honoured with titles and cash rewards, said Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.
The farmer producing the most foodgrains in each administrative block will be awarded the title of Kisan Sri and a cash award of Rs.100,00, while the top producer in the district will be given the title of Kisan Bhushan and a Rs.200,000 award.
The state's top food grain producer will receive the title of Kisan Ratna along with Rs.500,000, Nitish Kumar announced Monday while launching the Chief Minister's Road and Bridge Construction Scheme in Fatehpur village in Patna district.
The chief minister added that he would leave no stone unturned to bring about a revolution in the agro-industry sector of the state
