The Bihar Government has asked all its district magistrates and superintendents of police to take strict action against those engaging in indecent representation of women. The DMs and SPs have been issued letters to ensure there was no indecent representation of women through cinema posters and other advertisements, State's Home Secretary Afzal Amanullah said on Tuesday. Amanullah said there were adequate provisions under the Indian Penal Code to check indecent representation of women and other immoral acts and the district officials have been asked to enforce these. Amanullah said rivalry often led to criminal activities and it should be checked in order to contain crime.
