PATNA: Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Saturday claimed that by 2015 Bihar would emerge as a "developed state" of the country. After attending the meeting of the State Planning Board, Nitish said the government was following the 10-point mission suggested by President APJ Abdul Kalam. The chief minister said the planning board has been reorganised with former member of the Planning Commission N K Singh as its vice-chairman. The meeting discussed the next five-year plan and the board was asked to prepare a detailed report. The points to be included in the report would deal with the President's 10-point mission dealing with agriculture, education, human resources, revival of Nalanda International University, health services, flood protection, basic infrastructure, tourism and e-governance. Nitish said various schemes for employment generation, development of infrastructure, encouragement to investment and reforms in health and education sectors would be prepared by the board. The main task of the board is to ensure the growth rate in the range of eight to ten percent. Singh said all steps would be taken to achieve the target.
