14 Armymen felicitated on R-Day

PATNA: Republic Day was celebrated with gaiety and fervour across the state on Monday. Bihar governor R L Bhatia unfurled the Tricolour at Gandhi
Maidan here and urged people of the state to work towards national unity and integrity. He also felicitated 14 Armymen on the occasion for their exemplary courage.

Prominent among others who were present on the occasion included Bihar assembly Speaker Udai Narayan Choudhary and council chairman Arun Kumar.

Divisional commissioner Rabindra Panwar unfurled the Tricolour at his office on Monday. Patna DM Jitendra Kumar Sinha and other employees were also present there.

Republic Day functions were also organised at various places, including AVN English School. Students also took out a march in the Boring Road area and Pataliputra Colony chanting slogans on the way.

At Holy Cross International School principal S Thakur hoisted the Tricolour. A "march past" by the students was also held on the occasion. They also presented cultural programmes.

Several other organisations and political parties, including Patna Mahanagar Rashtriya Janata Dal, International School, Akhil Bharatiya Dusadh Uthan Parishad, Bihar Rajya Panchayat Parishad, Civil Defence, Mahanth Hanuman Sharan College, Shivam Classes, Bharatiya Momim Front, S.T. Severin's High School, Shamrock Kids, Rotary Patna, Kumudini Educational Trust, Rashtriya Shaikshanik Parishad, Playland School, Bihar State Pollution Control Board, Dony Polo Public School and Sub-ordinate Engineers' Association also celebrated Republic Day.

Danapur DRM B D Garg hoisted the national flag on the office premises. RPF personnel, NCC, scouts and guides participated in the parade. ECR chief workshop project manager Barun Bharthuhar unfurled the Tricolour at the construction office at the Chamber of Commerce building in Danapur.

At the ECR HQ in Hajipur, GM Girish Bhatnagar hoisted the national flag. Speaking on the occasion, he said ECR has made tremendous progress in various segments.
