RJD leader does a U-turn, claims he never resigned

New Delhi/ Patna Jan 28 RJD leader Shyam Rajak, apparently not on best of terms with certain party leaders, today announced his resignation from all organisational posts of the party, but by evening he did a U-turn, claiming"I never resigned".
Rajak, the party&aposs national general secretary and national spokesman, had earlier said in Patna,"I have resigned from all organisational posts but will continue to work for the party as a loyal soldier."

The party&aposs Dalit face and a close associate of RJD chief Lalu Prasad, however, started singing a different tune in the evening saying,"In fact, I did not resign. I will continue to work for strengthening the party.

"I cannot think of leaving Lalu ji even in the last moments of my life," Rajak told PTI on phone when contacted from Delhi.

"I had just written a letter to the party chief mentioning certain difficulties I was facing in working in the party.

"I had not mentioned at all about resignation in the letter. I had simply stated that it may not be feasible for me to work in this atmosphere and asked should I work in this atmosphere,"he said.

Insiders said on condition of anonymity that Rajak had strained relations with state party principal general secretary, Patna MP Ramkripal Yadav, and Bihar unit president of Rashtriya Yuva Janata Dal and former MLA Satish Chandra.

Rajak&aposs name is doing rounds as a prospective RJD candidate for the newly created Jamui (reserved) Parliament seat.

He, however, parried the question on whether or not he is a contender for the seat saying,"The party has to decide on these matters.
