Gross injustice to Bihar : Nitish

Banka (PTI): Describing the interim budget presented by the UPA government in Lok Sabha as 'poll-oriented', Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Monday said gross injustice was done by not according special status to the 'cash-strapped' state.

"I am sorry to say that it is an injustice and the budget has not addressed the genuine demand for according special status to Bihar in accordance with other backward states," Kumar, on the fourth-phase of his Vikas Yatra (Development March), told reporters here.

"We have been demanding for a long time to put Bihar under the catergory of backward state. I am sorry to point out that even the Prime Minister has not responded to a request made by us for an appointment on the issue," he said.

"It's an election budget without any realistic fundamentals of economy," he said
