Nitish orders departmental proceedings against engineer

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today ordered to initiate departmental proceedings against an engineer of the electricity department posted in Kishanganj district on the complaints by the local people.
Kumar directed senior officials to proceed against engineer Surendra Prasad after several people complained that he used to harass them for every little work that needed to be done in the area.

The chief minister&aposs direction came during his' Janata Durbar at Rahmatpada in Kochadhaman block of the district on the last day of the third leg of his' Vikas Yatra, official sources said.

Later, Kumar dedicated to the people various development schemes executed at a cost of Rs 161 crore during a function at Ruidhasa ground in Kishanganj .

Acknowledging that the minority-dominated district lagged behind in education, the chief minister announced opening of five government high schools each in all seven blocks.

He said the government had decided to construct embankments involving an expenditure of Rs 603 crore for checking erosion along Mahananda river and its tributaries.
