Bihar Poll

PATNA: Bihar would witness four-phase Lok Sabha elections. While 13 constituencies each would go to polls in the first two phases, votes would be
cast for 11 seats in the third phase. In the last phase voting would be held for three constituencies only, said sources in the state election department. The notification for the first phase, voting for which would take place on April 16, would be issued on March 23 and the last date of filing nomination papers would be March 30. Scrutiny of nomination papers would be done on March 31 and the last date for withdrawal of nomination papers would be April 2. For the second phase, notification would be issued on March 28 and voting would be held on April 23. The last date of filing nomination papers is April 4 and scrutiny of these papers would be done on April 6. The last date of withdrawing nomination would be April 8. The notification for the third phase, voting for which would take place on April 30, would be issued on April 2 and the last date of filing nomination papers would be April 9. Scrutiny of nomination papers would be done on April 11 and the last date of withdrawal of nominations would be April 13. For the fourth phase, voting for which would be on May 7, notification would be issued on April 11. The last date of filing nomination papers would be April 18 and scrutiny would be held on April 20. The last date of withdrawing nomination papers would be April 22.
First phase: Gopalganj, Siwan, Maharajganj, Saran, Ara, Buxar, Sasaram, Karakat, Jehanabad, Aurangabad, Gaya, Nawada and Jamui.
Second phase: Valmikinagar, Paschim Champaran, Purvi Champaran, Sheohar, Sitamarhi, Madhubani, Jhanjharpur, Darbhanga, Muzaffarpur, Vaishali, Hajipur, Ujiyarpur and Samastipur.
Third phase: Supaul, Araria, Kishanganj, Katihar, Purnia, Madhepura, Begusarai, Khagaria, Bhagalpur, Banka, Munger.
Fourth phase: Nalanda, Patna Saheb, Pataliputra.
